Economist - Amazon
Hello, and welcome to my website! I’m an economist at Amazon, where I'm part of the PXTCS organization, working to make Amazon be the world's best employer.
I have a PhD in education policy and program evaluation from Harvard University. My academic research interests are on related to the intersection of higher education policy and other policy areas, such as immigration, transportation, and health care policy. I’m especially interested in how these intersecting policy areas affect the educational and labor market outcomes of low-income, minority, and immigrant individuals.
Prior to Amazon, I was a doctoral research affiliate at the Harvard Project on Workforce, where I research the workforce development sector and how it interacts with higher education. I also have a Masters in Public Policy from Vanderbilt University, where I also worked as an analyst at Vanderbilt’s Department of Health Policy. I hold a bachelor’s degree in economics from Brigham Young University.
I’m a first generation Mexican immigrant, coming to the U.S. when I was 8 years old. My experiences as an immigrant seeking higher education inform a lot of my research. My wife and I have four really fun, really busy young kids.
